Bernadette Murray is an award-winning filmmaker and editor from Sydney with over 19 years of experience in film, television and digital art/media.

Her expert editing skills are recognised across the industry and have led to her crafting feature films (such as Lone Wolf starring Hugo Weaving), documentaries (such as The Opposition, China Love and The Endangered Generation with Laura Dern) as well as a host of top-rated programs for the ABC (Back to Nature, The Family Court Murders, Waltzing the Dragon, Foreign Correspondent and Catalyst), NITV & Channel 10’s The First Inventors, National Geographic and Media Stockade's The Surgery Ship and Dylan Moran’s stand-up comedy special What It Is.

Melissa Anastasi’s forthcoming Once Upon A Time you Loved Me will be Murray’s first credit as feature film producer. The project was included in the Venice Biennale College Cinema program in 2021 and is scheduled to commence shooting in late 2023.

In addition to this Murray has acted as director, producer and visual effects artist on film-clips for a range of Australian musicians including Children Collide, Jack Ladder, Hermitude, Gordi, The Tongue, Jaala, Tilman Robinson and David Bridie.

Her installation work has explored collaborations with visual artists Victoria Hempstead with a 9x12m installation video work Eternal Gaze for Art Pharmacy, experiments in movement with dancer Holly Durant and with Versus Media for Gordi’s VIVID performances in 2022 at the Sydney Opera House. Her recent solo installation series Changeable Water exhibited with Craft Victoria in 2021.

Bernadette holds a Graduate Diploma in Editing from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), a Graduate Diploma in Animation (RMIT) and a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies (UNSW.) Bernadette has also taught editing workshops at National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
